Marie Iemma is the founder of Illume HR & Investigations.

As a Lawyer and HR professional with senior leadership experience, Marie brings extensive experience across workplace investigations, safeguarding, professional standards, HR leadership, and training within schools, churches, and NFPs.

Having worked and volunteered within Christian organisations across various denominations for many years, Marie understands the unique dynamics, sensitivities, and responsibilities that can arise within faith-based environments. She approaches her work with professionalism, respect, procedural fairness, and a genuine commitment to supporting organisations through complex and often challenging matters.

Marie has strong knowledge of child protection and employment legislation, together with the broader regulatory frameworks governing schools, religious institutions, and social service organisations. Her experience includes conducting and overseeing workplace and safeguarding investigations under both the NSW and Tasmanian Reportable Conduct Schemes, including matters involving children and young people.

In addition to investigation and consultancy work, Marie also develops and delivers practical training sessions across areas including safeguarding, reportable conduct, workplace behaviour, professional boundaries, psychosocial hazards, and HR-related matters.

Marie works alongside a small and dedicated team, including an experienced former teacher, bringing valuable insight into the realities and challenges faced within school communities. With current and valid clearances, the Illume team is certified to work with children and vulnerable people.
